Maintain and Expand the Government-to-Government Agreement with EPA to Clean up the Tar Creek Superfund Site

In 2014, Quapaw Nation formed an inter-governmental agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to clean the Tar Creek Superfund site. Quapaw Services Authority has created 80 new jobs and purchased trucks and heavy equipment to undertake the hard work of cleaning up hundreds of acres of mining waste that has polluted parts of the Quapaw’s reservation since the early 1900s.
